The FALCON Consortium met in Braunschweig!

From 28 to 29 January 2026, the FALCON consortium gathered in Braunschweig for its third in-person consortium meeting, which was kindly hosted by our German partner, DLR.

During the two-day meeting, partners reviewed the progress of the project’s work packages and the three test cases, and discussed upcoming milestones and planned activities.

The consortium also had the opportunity to visit the NWB aeroacoustic wind tunnel, which is operated by the DNW, the German-Dutch Wind Tunnels. This atmospheric, low-speed wind tunnel with a closed or slotted test section and open jet plays a key role in aeroacoustic research. We would like to thank DNW warmly for welcoming us.

Additionally, project partners visited the AWB aeroacoustic wind tunnel, which is operated by DLR. This quiet wind tunnel enables extremely low-noise airflow generation at velocities of up to 60 metres per second.

As these are the very wind tunnels used to carry out measurements within the FALCON project, the visits were particularly enlightening for the consortium.

Thank you to our great hosts!
